The Aberdeen Law Project is pleased to announce that the 2019 application process is now open.

ALP held an informal event on 10 September for 1st and 2nd year law students looking to apply on Tuesday, 10 September. The annual event serves as an excellent opportunity for those interested in joining the Project to learn more about what we do and the incredible range of work we are involved in – everything from working with schools and prisons to representing SSSC workers in fitness to practise hearings.

Jonathan Goodyear, Senior Deputy Student Director, said:“It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic prospective applicants at our information evening. Getting good people on board is key to the Project’s success and having met many of our future members on Tuesday I can say with certainty that we won’t struggle to do that.

“It was particularly encouraging to hear that the existence of ALP was what convinced many people to study at the University of Aberdeen.”

Laith Saleh, a prospective applicant, on why they want to join the ALP, said:“The Aberdeen Law Project seems like the best way at university to help the community whilst also gaining real legal experience – such a range of opportunities.”

Another prospective applicant, Eilidh McCruden, said: “I wanted to study law at the University of Aberdeen because I heard about the Aberdeen Law Project and was impressed by the work that they do to help local communities. It set the University apart from all others.”
